Responsibilities
- Must have good production concept.
- Making sketches by hand or on the computer.
- Developing patterns
- Overseeing production.
- Analysing trends in fabrics.
- Sourcing suppliers
- Selecting, buying and trimming of fabrics,
- Adopting existing designs for mass production.
- Supervising the making up of sample garments.
- Quality control.
Requirement
- Applicant must be a B.Sc/HND holder
Skills:
- Must be Creative
- Must have eyes for colour, texture and pattern.
- Must have the ability to visualize things in 3 Dimensions.
- Must have good technical skills in areas such as pattern, cutting, grading and garment construction.
- Must enjoy following trends in fashion and clothes.
- Must be a risk taker in thinking outside the box in creativity.
- Good communications skills to explain ideas clearly and persuasively.
- The ability to meet deadlines and work within a budget.
- Business skills and commercial awareness.
- Good negotiating skills when selling products.
- Strong organizational skills.
Working hours are 6am - 6pm but must be prepared to work longer hours when preparing samples or collections for fashion shows.
