We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Project Manager (Building Construction)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities
Your job description includes but not restricted to:

  • Design Coordination
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project
  • Providing technical support to contractors during the construction phase of a project Developing project timelines, including phases of implementation, completion dates, and milestones along the way
  • Negotiating contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Compile and plan budgets, cost estimates, and other financial estimates
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget (cost estimating/managing)
  • Evaluate risks
  • Design and ensure the QA/QC Policy are adhered to.

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven experience as building construction project manager
  • 8 - 10 years project management experience in building construction
  • BSc / BA in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
