Job Summary

• The Cathodic Protection & Corrosion Specialist plays a vital role in protecting Torupere Nigeria Limited's pipeline infrastructure and other critical assets from corrosion.
• This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining corrosion prevention systems to ensure the long-term integrity and operational reliability of assets.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cathodic protection systems, including impressed current and sacrificial anode systems, to prevent corrosion in pipelines, tanks, and other structures.
• Perform regular assessments, surveys, and inspections to identify corrosion risks, evaluate the effectiveness of existing protection measures, and recommend preventive actions.
• Maintain detailed records of corrosion rates, inspection results, system performance data, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with the Asset Integrity team to plan and execute inspections and maintenance of cathodic protection systems.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations on corrosion control measures, providing expert advice to management and operational teams.
• Train team members on the importance of corrosion prevention, the principles of cathodic protection, and safe work practices related to corrosion control activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Corrosion Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cathodic protection and corrosion control in the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of implementing effective corrosion prevention programs.
• Certification in corrosion control or cathodic protection (e.g., NACE CP Specialist, NACE CP Technologist) is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, with a deep understanding of corrosion mechanisms, prevention techniques, and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
