We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Corporate Legal Executive

Location: Abuja

Job Description

• The Corporate Head Legal is responsible for overseeing the legal department, managing all legal affairs of the organization, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
• This role includes advising senior management on legal risks, drafting and negotiating contracts, and representing the company in legal proceedings.
• The Head of Legal will lead a team of legal professionals and work closely with other departments to support the company’s strategic goals.

Expectations:

• Develop and implement legal strategies to support the company’s objectives.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management on various business matters.
• Oversee and manage all legal contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
• Represent the company in litigation, negotiations, and other legal proceedings.
• Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
• Train and mentor junior legal staff and other employees on legal compliance and policies
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.

Qualifications

• Law Degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.

Educational Experience:

• Law degree (JD or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Advanced legal qualifications or certifications (e.g., LLM, in-house counsel certification) are a plus.

Years of Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within a corporate or in-house legal environment.

Professional Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and compliance regulations.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills for contracts and legal documents.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in legal research and case management software.
• High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Salary
N300,000 - N400,000 / month.
