We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Lab Supervisor / Shift-in-Charge

Location: Agbara, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all tests and analyses are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with production teams to understand testing requirements and provide timely feedback on sample results.
• Conduct routine and specialized testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Manage lab technicians, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate routine maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lab testing processes and ensure team compliance.
• Record, analyze, and report test results; identify trends or deviations, and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure the lab’s compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including waste disposal and chemical handling protocols.
• Provide training and mentorship to laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly lab reports to management, highlighting quality trends and issues.
• Monitor lab inventory, manage stock of reagents and supplies, and order materials as needed to avoid shortages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a lab supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing, steel, or chemical industries.
• Strong knowledge of lab testing techniques, quality control protocols, and industry-specific testing standards.
• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a laboratory setting.
• Experience with lab equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly.
