Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Account Officer is responsible for responsible for managing and reconciling rebate payments, monitoring invoice and payment statements, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • The role also involves liaising with task managers, handling VAT remittance, managing customer ledgers, and overseeing the financial performance of key partners such as Lafarge, BUA, and Dangote.

Responsibilities

  • Track and manage all Lafarge rebates paid to the company.
  • Monitor monthly summaries of Lafarge and the company’s invoices and perform payment statement reconciliation.
  • Issue codes to task managers upon request.
  • Manage all company emails, send bank instructions, and follow up on requests.
  • Remit VAT to the federal government and provide remittance evidence/memos to corporate customers.
  • Adjust and correct customer ledgers as requested by sales officers and approved by the MD.
  • Monitor balance sheets and trial balances.
  • Track and evaluate the performance of Lafarge, BUA, and Dangote accounts.
  • Monitor rebate trends from Lafarge, BUA, and Dangote.
  • Review transport profit or loss and the overall performance of trucks.
  • Compute weekly sales performance for marketers in both the company and Lafarge teams.
  • Review stock queries for orders with outstanding deliveries, caked cement, or invoicing errors.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the Senior Accountant and the MD.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of financial reconciliation and reporting.
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, Google Sheets and Tally
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile accounts accurately.
  • Knowledge of managing rebates and customer account adjustments.
  • Excellent communication and task management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and monitor financial performance.

Salary
N300,000 monthly.
