Job Title: Civil Engineer (Construction)

Location: Calabar, Cross River
Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary

• The Civil Engineer with a background in construction who resides in Calabar to coordinate a project in Calabar for Six months.
• This role requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and hands-on experience with construction projects to ensure successful project execution, compliance with engineering standards, and adherence to quality, cost, and time parameters.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and other engineers to develop and implement construction plans.
• Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with safety standards and project timelines.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure material and resource availability for uninterrupted workflow.
• Monitor construction quality and provide solutions to engineering challenges that may arise during project execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections and testing to ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and regulations.
• Implement quality assurance protocols and safety measures to minimize risks and hazards on-site.
• Maintain thorough documentation of project progress, changes, and issues encountered, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and present project reports, status updates, and other technical documentation for clients and management.
• Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in civil engineering within the construction sector.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (COREN) preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools, and MS Office; knowledge of construction management software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction materials, structural analysis, and environmental regulations.
