Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Kano
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Maintenance Supervisor will support the Head of Maintenance Deapartment and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all production equipment and facilities.
  • This role ensures that equipment operates at peak efficiency, minimizes downtime, and supports the manufacturing team in achieving production goals while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance program for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Plan and schedule repairs, inspections, and maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Manage and prioritize maintenance requests.

Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Equipment & Facility Management:

  • Ensure all machinery, tools, and systems are functioning correctly and efficiently.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment, recommending and overseeing replacements or upgrades when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source and maintain spare parts inventory.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect employees and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with production teams to align maintenance schedules with production goals.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Act as a liaison between maintenance and other departments to resolve operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery, and maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certifications in Maintenance Management or relevant technical fields (e.g., CMRP, PMP).
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
