Job Title: Project Site Surveyor

Location: Uyo, Akwa Ibom
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Function

• The main job of Project site surveyor includes directing the layout of the project’s construction work, compiling field survey data and contributing to planning and scheduling meetings with contractor representatives, project managers and on-site engineers.
• You are also responsible for determination of position, establishment and monitoring of elevation of building structural elements including external works.

Responsibilities

• Establish Site referenced survey control system (or otherwise as it may apply to the project) and benchmarks
• Preliminary Site Mapping
• Setting out of Building outline and staking of Grid Lines for consultant confirmation
• Conduct surveys on construction sites and properties
• Examine previous records and evidence to ensure data accuracy
• Use equipment and tools to accurately measure land features (e.g. longitudes, latitudes)
• Build maps, sketches, and charts
• Report on survey results and present findings to clients
• Collaborate with engineers and architects on several projects
• Interpret project drawings
• Monitor horizontal and vertical structural elements of buildings
• Evaluate staff performance, enforcing safety regulations and procedures and directly training crewmembers.

Experience / Qualification

• B.Sc Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Professional qualification is an added advantage.
