Vice Chancellor at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA)

Federal University Dutsin-Ma is located in Dutsin-Ma town, Katsina State. The town is located about 60km south of the state capital. The University is ICT-driven and envisioned to be a top ranking world-class university, committed to excellence in research and production of a generation of leaders with passion for service and the motto, is service and integrity. The University commenced academic activities in July, 2012.

The Post of the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutsin-Ma will soon become vacant. Accordingly, the Council invites all interested suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Location: Dutsin-Ma, Katsina

Functions

• Subject to the provisions of the University law, the Vice-Chancellor shall take precedence over all other members of the University except the Pro-Chancellor and Chancellor.
• Subject to the provisions of the University law, the Vice-Chancellor shall have the general function of directing the activities of the University and shall be the Chief Executive and Academic Officer of the University and Chairman of the Senate.

Qualities and Qualifications
An applicant for the position of Vice Chancellor of the University must have the following traits and qualifications:

• Fifteen Years (15 Years) unbroken service in the University system
• Be not more than 65 years old
• Distinguished academics who are Professors with demonstrated ability to give exceptional academic leadership and proven managerial skills.
• Be a person of the high academic standing and reputation in his/her respective discipline
• Must be familiar and conversant with developmental, academic and other complicated managerial concerns of the University
• Have significant and deep experience in all facets of university administration
• Be a person who commands respect nationally and internationally, especially in the academic community
• Be an individual who, based on his/her track record, should command the willing respect and loyalty of university staff and students.
• Scholars who will be able to attract research grants, complementary funds and collaboration from local and international agencies, and further uplift the academic stature of the University.
• Be morally sound with integrity
• Be a person who is physically and mentally fit and in state of good health
• Should have good power of application in ICT, with digital skills.

Tenure and Conditions of Service

• The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for one non-renewable term of five (5) years only.
• The conditions of service are attractive and as approved by Government for Nigerian Universities.
