• Our client, a private postgraduate university dedicated is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to steer its growth and sustainability.

Job Summary

• The Vice Chancellor will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the University, providing strategic leadership to achieve the institution’s vision of academic and operational excellence.
• The role involves leading the university to financial self-sustainability, building strong local and international partnerships, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage academic and non-academic partnerships with high-ranking international institutions within the first year of appointment.
• Represent the university in diverse external constituencies, including civic leaders, donors, and alumni.
• Spearhead policy formulation, strategic planning, and initiatives to achieve academic and professional excellence.
• Provide leadership in academic standards, programme review, curriculum development, and long-range planning.
• Serve as a member of the Governing Council, presenting recommendations and ensuring efficient governance.
• Promote harmony and collaboration among staff, students, and the university’s stakeholders.
• Develop budgetary strategies, oversee resource allocation, and ensure financial accountability across departments.

Role Requirements

• A distinguished academic scholar with a rank of Professor in Social Sciences or related fields and at least eight (8) years of experience at that level.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership experience within an academic environment.
• Proven ability to attract funding and establish partnerships with local and international organisations.
• Visionary and highly committed to the accelerated development of institutions
• Exceptional strategic management and team building abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to maintain harmony and mobilise resources effectively
