Job Description

• We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Economics Teacher to join our esteemed educational institution in Benin City, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspiring and educating students in the field of economics, fostering critical thinking, and preparing them for future academic and professional endeavours.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging economics lessons for secondary school students
• Create comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum and international standards
• Utilize various teaching methods and educational technologies to enhance student learning
• Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students to improve their understanding of economic concepts
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall learning experience
• Stay updated on current economic trends and incorporate them into the curriculum
• Organize and supervise economics-related extracurricular activities and competitions
• Participate in parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and address concerns
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the economics department's teaching methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field (required)
• Teaching certification or postgraduate diploma in education (required)
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in economics
• Strong knowledge of economics principles and theories
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning
• Ability to use educational technology and software effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• In-depth understanding of economic systems, policies, and current global economic trends
• Passion for inspiring and motivating students to excel in economics
