The Federal University, Gashua in Yobe State was established in February, 2013. Degree Programmes commenced in the 2014/2015 academic session.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for position of:

Job Title: Professor

Qualifications and Experience Required
  • A PhD. Holder or its equivalent with a minimum of ten years teaching experience at the University level,
  • A minimum of three years as an Associate Professor.
  • Continuous productive research activity and the achievement of the status of an acknowledged authority in area of specialisation.
  • Considerable background of research with a sufficient number of admissible publications, totalling a minimum of 15 articles in reputable journals and 10 edited conference proceedings.
  • Dissemination of knowledge through academic and professional activities.
  • Postgraduate supervision at PhD. (or equivalent) level, where the program is available.
  • Academic Leadership and the ability to attract and inspire others.
  • Administrative integrity.
  • Impeccable integrity.
  • Favourable External Assessment.
Contract Appointment
Professors wishing to apply for contract appointment and leave of absence may be considered.
