We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Maintenance Technician / Health and Safety Technician

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Primary Role

  • The Maintenance/Health and Safety Technician will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of production equipment and maintaining a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Maintenance Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and address potential mechanical issues.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and spare parts to ensure minimal downtime during repairs.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimize equipment-related disruptions.

Health and Safety Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections.
  • Organize and implement employee training on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain proper records of incidents, hazards, and safety measures taken.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve workplace safety.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a diploma or technical certification in mechanical engineering, health and safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in equipment maintenance and health and safety management.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and safety equipment.
