Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is one of the frontline National Non-governmental organizations working in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States with over a decade experience in providing humanitarian and development services in the North East Nigeria. It has partnered with numerous government agencies, National and International NGOs as well as UN Agencies in the design, planning, implementation, and supervision of programmes and activities aimed at improving the lives of rural and urban communities.

The organization has footprints across the focal states and has been engaging with communities through its network of field workers and volunteers. TCDI was established in 2008 and registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C.), Abuja on 23rd May 2014 with registration number IT/69569 and other regulatory bodies in the focal states.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Driver

Locations: Machina and Nguru, Yobe

Job Description

  • Provide transportation services for staff and materials between project locations and to field sites.
  • Ensure the vehicle is maintained in good working condition, conducting regular checks on fuel, oil, water, and other essential vehicle systems.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks for vehicle usage, including details of mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow TCDI/WFP safety protocols and adhere to local traffic laws while ensuring the safety of passengers and cargo.
  • Support the logistics team in loading and unloading project supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle, ensuring it is stocked with necessary first aid kits and safety equipment.
  • Report any mechanical issues or accidents to the supervisor promptly.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns raised during travel and field activities.
  • Perform other duties as required by the logistics team to ensure smooth project operations.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an OND qualification with 3+ years relevant work experience.
