Taimako Community Development Initiative (TCDI) is one of the frontline National Non-governmental organizations working in Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States with over a decade experience in providing humanitarian and development services in the North East Nigeria. It has partnered with numerous government agencies, National and International NGOs as well as UN Agencies in the design, planning, implementation, and supervision of programmes and activities aimed at improving the lives of rural and urban communities.

The organization has footprints across the focal states and has been engaging with communities through its network of field workers and volunteers. TCDI was established in 2008 and registered with the Federal Government of Nigeria under the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C.), Abuja on 23rd May 2014 with registration number IT/69569 and other regulatory bodies in the focal states.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Nutrition Assistant

Locations: Machina and Nguru, Yobe
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various nutrition-related activities and processes supporting alignment with wider programme guidelines.
  • To be committed to and to promoting TCDI’s safeguarding principles of the people and communities we are working for, and TCDI staff and partners
  • Participate in regular field visits and meetings to gather and verify information needed to understand the needs of the most vulnerable communities and targeted groups
  • Sensitize TCDI’s beneficiaries and local communities on nutrition information and answer any nutrition queries raised by the beneficiaries at the community level as advised by the direct supervisor
  • Undertake standard data entry tasks under defined systems, to ensure information is organized and readily available
  • Support the management and implementation of the community-level nutrition projects to ensure that the various nutrition activities are performed within the established targets following TCDI’s policies and procedures
  • Prepare a range of reports by reviewing and interpreting analyzed data.
  • Ensure and/or perform the accurate, timely recording of data for the nutrition projects and ensure consistency of information
  • Closely collaborate with functional units to support effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing project activities
  • Coordinate and connect with local colleagues and ensure follow-up on community activities.
  • Conduct regular monitoring and field visits to project sites for evaluating project efficiency, identifying problems, and instituting corrective measures
  • To act as the first point of contact for any safeguarding, child, and adult Nutrition concerns, providing timely, relevant support and advice
  • Refer cases of Nutrition needs once identified by field visits
  • Regularly reporting and coordinating with the Nutrition focal person
  • Perform any other duty as may be required.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess B.Sc Degrees with 2+ years relevant work experience.
