Job Title: Para Track Specialist

Location: Nigeria

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise the installation and alignment of the para track system along the pipeline construction route.
  • Ensure correct positioning and anchoring of the para track to support pipeline installation and welding activities.
  • Perform regular inspections of the para track to ensure integrity and adherence to technical specifications.
  • Conduct stress, load, and alignment testing of the para track to ensure it can sustain the operational pressures during pipeline installation.
  • Identify issues with the track system and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, engineers, and other site teams to ensure smooth integration of para track systems into pipeline construction activities.
  • Provide technical support to the welding and pipe-laying teams to troubleshoot any issues related to para track interference or misalignment.
  • Ensure that machinery is functioning at optimal capacity to avoid project delays due to mechanical failure.
  • Set up and operate Paratrack guidance systems during HDD and tunneling operations.
  • Monitor and analyze real-time data to ensure bore path accuracy.
  • Provide recommendations for course corrections based on Paratrack readings.
  • Maintain and calibrate Paratrack equipment for optimal performance.
  • Train team members on Paratrack system usage and data interpretation
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on system performance and drilling trajectory.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
  • Record and maintain accurate logs on the para track installation progress, adjustments made, and any deviations from the design.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and provide guidance to field teams to minimize potential hazards associated with para track operations.
  • Adjust and recalibrate the para track system as required based on changing site conditions, pipe laying requirements, or unforeseen obstacles.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in pipeline construction, with a focus on para track systems, track-laying techniques, or related mechanical or civil tasks.
  • Must be certified in the following areas of competence: American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT NDT Level I and II), and Autodesk AutoCAD
