Description
- The procurement manager is responsible for strategic purchasing of industrial chemicals, and negotiating price with suppliers, assigning purchase orders to selected suppliers, and managing purchase orders from start to finish for the Tradevu Commerce business unit and its customers.
- The procurement manager will drive the efficient and cost-effective flow of materials to and from client sites through the supervision of the logistics team
- Devise initiatives to drive procurement performance.
- Maintain advantageous relationships with suppliers and manage disputes as they arise.
- Monitor supplier performance on each transaction and communicate the same to
- Category Manager for optimal business operations performance.
- Ensure the timeliness and effectiveness of sourcing and purchasing activities.
- Track key metrics and KPIs to reduce costs
- Analyse procurement data, conducting spend analysis and preparing reports.
- Optimise workflows and automation processes to save time and money
- Compile reports for the VP of Operations Commerce
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and laws
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Monitor industry trends and developments.
Responsibilities
- Assign suppliers to orders based on an analysis of factors such as quality, price, and delivery time, and negotiate contracts to obtain the best deals.
- Approve purchase orders and perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Manage direct procurement processes, including the purchasing or obtaining of raw materials, for Tradevu Commerce clients.
- Create RFQs and oversee competitive bidding cycles.
- Manage procurement budgets, strategies and payment processes.
- Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies and policies for the purchasing of raw materials across Tradevu Commerce verticals.
- Manage the procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing and paying for goods.
Requirements
Experience and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing procurement strategies.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with contract management.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, or PMP).
- Experience in managing international procurement and cross-border transactions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder and supplier management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
