Job Title: Commodity Sourcing Manager - Agro Commodities

Description

  • The Category Manager is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of Agro Commodities for our client.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, a deep network of agro-commodity suppliers, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for acquiring agro commodities.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Monitor market trends and technological advancements to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand supply needs and specifications.
  • Conduct cost analyses and manage budgets for category focus.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities and supplier performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise sourcing processes and reduce costs.
  • To work proactively to improve the sourcing process leading to the integration between different activities across our customers supply chain (purchasing, quality, logistics, suppliers, warehouse, procurement).
  • Resolving payment issues to suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for procurement operations in accordance with best industry practices. Examples include: PR-to PO aging reports, vendor scorecards, lead-time maintenance, on-time delivery metrics, freight cost measures, PPV analysis and purchased inventory targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on equipment and automated machines.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Experience with automated procurement systems and software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven decisions.
