Job Title: Chef
Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Job Overview
- A Chef is responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing food preparation, and ensuring that dishes are of high quality. They create menus, manage kitchen staff, and maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Chefs must balance creativity with cost management and adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Development:
- Create and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Experiment with new recipes and refine existing dishes.
Food Preparation and Presentation:
- Supervise the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Ensure dishes are presented attractively and in line with the restaurant’s standards.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and manage kitchen staff, including line cooks and sous chefs.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance.
- Foster a positive and productive kitchen environment.
Inventory and Budget Management:
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste.
- Control food costs while maintaining quality standards.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure the kitchen complies with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment and appliances to ensure functionality.
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess an HND qualification with at least 6 years experience.
