We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Job Description

  • The Kitchen Assistant supports the Chef and kitchen staff by performing essential tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Responsibilities include food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen equipment, assisting in meal preparation, and adhering to food safety standards.
  • The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering excellent service.

Primary Responsibilities
Food preparation Support:

  • Assist in basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
  • Prepare mise en place (ingredients and tools) for cooking stations.

Kitchen Maintenance:

  • Keep work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, and utensils regularly.

Stock Management:

  • Monitor kitchen supplies and report low stock levels to the Chef.
  • Help in unloading and organizing deliveries.

Adherence to health and safety:

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Dispose of waste and garbage properly to ensure cleanliness.

Support to the Chef:

  • Handle minor cooking tasks under supervision, such as assembling salads or plating dishes.
  • Assist the Chef and cooks during meal preparation and service.

Requirements

  • Courses / Qualification: OND / SSCE
  • Relevant Experience: 1 - 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Required Age: 19-25 years.

Special Skills & Key Behavioural Competencies:

  • Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or in food service is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen and food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good physical stamina and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Must be resident in City of interest.
