An indigenous oil and gas company with substantial interest in a deepwater field is seeking to recruit qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Mechanical Technician (Field Base)

Location:
Lagos

Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintenance records, technical reports and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of routine, preventive and planned maintenance programs.
  • Participates in a variety of maintenance, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment in assigned area.
  • Understanding and applying Safe Practices in an offshore environment.
  • Participates in the inspection and testing of completed work.
  • Assist with carrying out a variety of regular routine, major and auxiliary machine vibration monitoring checks and analysis.
  • Assist with ensuring that company regulations relating to safety and work permits are observed.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.
Skills:
  • Must have very good inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft suite.
  • Ability to read P&IDs and schematics will be an added advantage.
  • Successful candidate will be required to undergo a twelve month intensive vocational training and additional twelve months on-the-job training.
Qualifications
  • National Diploma (OND) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years post NYSC relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
