We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Video Editor

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are in search for a video editor who will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including but not limited to thorough application of video editing and production principles for audio editing/mixing, soundtrack selection, color grading and composition, file management, cuts, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the art director, creative producer, art designer and graphics designer to discuss and understand the production's vision
• Review raw material to determine which shots to use in the final film
• Manipulate and edit video and film footage using modern editing techniques and tools including masking, rotoscoping and greenscreen works.
• Maintain continuity while moving editing and enabling storytelling through the final production.
• Apply graphics, music, sound effects, dialogue and other special effects at appropriate places in the film to add scene value
• Color-correct the video to improve the viewer's visual experience
• Communicate with the director, assistant directors and production team throughout the project
• Create and review the final cut with supervisor before releasing it
• Manage and organize video files following proper naming conventions and storage procedures
• Adhere to style guidelines and maintain a consistent brand image as the director and producer require
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Providing reliable feedback and contributing ideas to enhance design projects.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new editing techniques and popular tools to enhance creativity and productivity

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any Science or Arts related field.
• Proven adequate experience in video editing, film production, multimedia, visual communication.
• Proficiency in video editing tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightworks or After Effects
• Familiarity with visual effects and motion graphics
• A portfolio showcasing previous video editing projects demonstrating your proficiency in different genres, styles and techniques.
