Havenhill Synergy Limited a clean-tech utility company that uses Solar Energy to generate clean, safe, cost-effective and sustainable electricity in rural and urban Nigeria. Havenhill is set to scale up her “end blackout” projects in rural communities by establishing several solar hybrid mini-grids and developing significant footprints in the commercial and industrial space.  

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Abuja, Nigeria (Occasional travel to project sites required)
Department: Projects
Reports To: Head of Projects

Job Description

  • As the Project Manager, you will oversee assigned company projects, including internally owned projects (mini-grids, captive power assets, etc.) and client projects (EPC contracts).
  • Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Experience in managing energy-related projects is a strong advantage, but applicants with project management expertise in other fields are encouraged to apply.
  • This role demands strong multitasking abilities and frequent travel to project locations across the country.

Roles and Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and oversee detailed project plans, ensuring that all company projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Define project milestones, allocate resources (human and materials), and track progress using project management tools like Gantt charts and MS Project.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to align project goals with organizational objectives.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting for every project.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular evaluations to track project performance and measure outputs against set goals.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop improvement plans to enhance project delivery processes and maintain the company’s competitive edge.

Technical Oversight:

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure project designs are accurate, feasible, and aligned with client and company expectations.

Requirements
Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification (mandatory).

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management. Experience in managing energy projects is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools like MS Project and Gantt charts.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent multitasking ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
