We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist (Histopathology Major)

Location: Warri, Delta

Description 

  • The Histopathologist is responsible for examining tissue samples to diagnose diseases, including cancers and infections, through microscopic analysis.
  • He / she would prepare and process tissue specimens, ensuring accurate and detailed pathology reports to assist clinicians in treatment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Examine stained tissue samples under a microscope to identify abnormal structures or diseases.
  • Provide accurate diagnoses based on tissue samples and prepare detailed pathology reports.
  • Process and prepare tissue specimens by embedding them in paraffin, sectioning, and staining for analysis.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams, including surgeons and oncologists, to discuss diagnoses and contribute to patient care planning.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of tests by adhering to laboratory protocols and engaging in quality control procedures.
  • Participate in research activities related to pathology and educate medical staff on histopathological techniques.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.MLS
  • Minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Excellent Hand-Eye Coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
