We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Laboratory Technician & Laboratory Technician

Location: Warra, Ngaski LGA, Kebbi
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Laboratory Technicians will be responsible for carrying out various types of mineral laboratory testing including (but not limited to) rock sample analysis, mineral-concentrate analysis, assisting in the testing of mine samples and assisting with the maintenance of equipment,t, etc. to meet up with applicable mineral exportation standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the analysis of raw materials.
  • Collect samples according to the approved quality plan.
  • Carry out preliminary preparation of samples collected for X-ray analysis.
  • Carry out sieves and moisture analysis of samples.
  • Prepare slides and make microscopic observations.
  • Ensure cleaning of sample collection points.
  • Assist in managing inventory of chemicals and laboratory items including glassware in the laboratory stores.
  • Escalate any identified deviations from target quality standards promptly to the supervising Technologist.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to our laboratory operations and maintenance of lab equipment and instruments.
  • Ensure effective housekeeping in the laboratory.
  • Assist in the maintenance of ISO quality management systems in the unit.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic lab analyses and activity reports.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head, Quality Inspectionor relevant supervising Technologist.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or its equivalent in Science Laboratory Technology, Chemistry (Pure/Applied).
  • Minimum of one(1) year of relevant work experience (previous engagement in the construction or mining sectors in an added advantage.
  • Ability to adapt to an off-site work location.
  • Open to relocate and available to resume immediately.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment
  • Ability to handle samples and operate lab equipment
  • Ability to pay attention to details
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (For Laboratory Technicians especially).

Salary
N70,000 - N180,000 monthly.
