An Indigenous Oil and Gas company located in Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Production Operator (Field Base)
Location: Lagos
Key Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the control room equipment, production processes and equipment and ensures that the plant is operating within normal parameters.
- Responsible for ensuring that all subcontractors are monitored for safe working practices and follows the permit to work system.
- Responsible for carrying out process isolations as described in the safe working practices and procedures and ensuring that all Company guidelines and regulatory requirements and procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Responsible for ensuring that all platform consumables and stock items such as chemicals are maintained at optimum levels.
- Plan and prioritizes work in accordance with Lead Operator’s instructions.
- Ensure that an accurate and comprehensive production log is maintained.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Must have very good inter-personal and communication skills.
- Computer literate in Microsoft suite.
- Ability to read P&IDs and schematics will be an added advantage.
- Successful candidate will undergo a twelve month intensive vocational training and additional twelve months on-the-job training.
- An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) in any of the following Engineering disciplines: I&E, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering. 3-5 years post NYSC relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
