Job Description

• An accountant's job is to analyze financial data, prepare financial statements, and provide financial advice.
• They also help organizations operate efficiently by ensuring compliance with accounting regulations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data: Accountants analyze a client's financial information to identify areas of risk or inefficiency
• Prepare financial statements: Accountants prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements
• Prepare budgets: Accountants prepare budget forecasts and evaluate performance
• Prepare tax returns: Accountants prepare and file tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Conduct audits: Accountants conduct internal audits to evaluate internal controls and identify areas of risk or inefficiency
• Reconcile accounts: Accountants reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Compute taxes: Accountants compute taxes and ensure timely bank payments
• Recommend financial actions: Accountants recommend financial actions to help organizations operate efficiently

Types of accountants:

• Management accountants: Also called cost, managerial, corporate, or private accountants
• Tax accountants: Specialize in preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Public accountants: Work with corporations, governments, individuals, and nonprofits.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an HND / BSc Degree qualification with 3 - 4 years of experience.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 per month.
