Job Description

• The Head of News and Television Production is responsible for leading the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all news and television production activities for a leading media conglomerate.
• This role requires an experienced media professional with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams, driving innovation, and delivering engaging and impactful content across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, development, and production of news, current affairs, and television programs to align with the organization's editorial vision and strategic objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction to the news and television production teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
• Manage the end-to-end production process, including content ideation, script development, filming, editing, and post-production, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality content.
• Develop and implement content strategies that effectively engage target audiences and drive viewership and audience growth across both linear and digital platforms.
• Analyze audience metrics, industry trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for content innovation and optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing, distribution, and digital divisions—to ensure seamless integration and promotion of news and television content.
• Manage production budgets and resources to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest production standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external partners, such as talent agencies, production companies, and industry organizations, fostering strategic alliances and exploring new content opportunities.
• Provide thought leadership and contribute to the organization's strategic direction by offering insights and recommendations to enhance market position and competitive advantage.
• Mentor and develop news and television production teams by identifying and nurturing talent and implementing training and development programs to build a strong, future-ready workforce.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in news and television production, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering successful content initiatives.
• Demonstrated expertise in content strategy, production management, and audience engagement, with a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape.
• Strong technical knowledge of the entire production process—from ideation to post-production—and the ability to leverage emerging technologies and workflows to enhance efficiency and innovation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt to changing market conditions.
• Passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of audience preferences and consumption habits across various platforms.
