Job Description

• The Producer of the Television News Bulletin is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of a high-profile, live daily news program.
• This role requires an experienced media professional with a proven track record in delivering accurate, timely, and impactful news content that informs and engages the target audience.
• The successful candidate will lead a talented team and collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure the smooth and successful production of the news bulletin.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the conception, development, and production of the daily television news bulletin, ensuring the content aligns with the organization’s editorial vision and journalistic standards.
• Manage the end-to-end production process, including story ideation, research, scriptwriting, studio coordination, and live broadcast execution.
• Lead and inspire the production team, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality news content within tight deadlines.
• Collaborate closely with the anchors, reporters, and other on-air talent to create a seamless and engaging on-screen news experience.
• Develop and implement innovative news strategies that effectively engage the target audience, drive viewership, and enhance the news bulletin’s position in the market.
• Analyze audience metrics, industry trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for content optimization and growth.
• Manage the production budget and resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations, while maintaining the highest journalistic and production standards.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including digital, graphics, and other departments, to ensure effective integration and distribution of the news content across multiple platforms.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external partners, such as news agencies, production companies, and industry organizations, to explore new opportunities and strengthen relationships.
• Continuously seek ways to enhance the production workflow, leverage new technologies, and explore creative approaches to captivate the audience.
• Mentor and develop the production team by identifying and nurturing talent, and implementing training and development programs to build a strong, future-ready workforce.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in television news production, with a proven track record of leading successful daily news programs.
• Demonstrated expertise in news gathering, story development, and live production management, with a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape.
• Strong technical knowledge of the entire news production process, from ideation to live broadcast, and the ability to leverage emerging technologies and workflows to enhance efficiency and innovation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• Exceptional editorial judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced, live news environment.
• Passion for journalism and a deep understanding of audience preferences and consumption habits across various platforms.
