Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Key tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maintain machinery space watch. Operate and monitor utility systems and Control Room
  • Perform condition monitoring and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and utility systems
  • Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment and utility systems as per Computerised Maintenance Management System
  • Perform bunkering operations
  • Ensure Control Room is kept tidy and in good order
  • Identify and report utility systems maintenance requirements
  • Perform sampling and analysis on utility systems in accordance with requirements
  • Use and maintain workshop and welding/cutting equipment, including tools and instruments
  • Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning
  • Assist in mechanical spare parts and consumables stock control
  • Use the Permit to Work system. Prepare Permits. Follow the Permit to Work procedures
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Produce reports, update records, generate work orders
  • Prepare required reports, keep logs and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively
  • Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
  • On-the-job-training of subordinates and trainees
  • Member of Emergency Response Team
Qualification requirements
Education:
  • Higher diploma / Degree in relevant Engineering discipline; UK or South African OOW (III/1) CoC required
Experience:
  • Employer requires 5 years experience in maintenance of process, marine and utility equipment in process plant, power plant, offshore facilities or marine vessels
Skills:
  • Good inter-personal and communications skills
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
