Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Key tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain machinery space watch. Operate and monitor utility systems and Control Room
- Perform condition monitoring and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and utility systems
- Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment and utility systems as per Computerised Maintenance Management System
- Perform bunkering operations
- Ensure Control Room is kept tidy and in good order
- Identify and report utility systems maintenance requirements
- Perform sampling and analysis on utility systems in accordance with requirements
- Use and maintain workshop and welding/cutting equipment, including tools and instruments
- Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Assist in mechanical spare parts and consumables stock control
- Use the Permit to Work system. Prepare Permits. Follow the Permit to Work procedures
- Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Produce reports, update records, generate work orders
- Prepare required reports, keep logs and maintain appropriate documentation
- Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively
- Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
- On-the-job-training of subordinates and trainees
- Member of Emergency Response Team
Qualification requirements
Education:
- Higher diploma / Degree in relevant Engineering discipline; UK or South African OOW (III/1) CoC required
Experience:
- Employer requires 5 years experience in maintenance of process, marine and utility equipment in process plant, power plant, offshore facilities or marine vessels
Skills:
- Good inter-personal and communications skills
- Good computer skills and knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
