Job Title: Instrument Technician

Key tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform condition monitoring and troubleshooting of instruments, Information Technology, communication and Control systems as per Computerised Maintenance Management System
- Perform instrument and Control System maintenance
- Perform maintenance of Information Technology, communication and navigation systems
- Perform maintenance of metering systems
- Control calibration appliances and test instruments
- Maintain Ex rating of instrument equipment as per design
- Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Perform instrument spare parts and consumables stock control
- Assist in fault finding and troubleshooting of shutdowns
- Liaise with other departments for coordination of maintenance activities
- Use the Permit to Work system. Prepare Permits. Follow the Permit to Work procedures
- Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System. Produce reports, update records, generate work orders
- Prepare required reports
- Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively
- Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
- On-the-job-training of colleagues and trainees
- Member of Emergency Response Team
Qualification Requirements
Education:
- Higher diploma / Degree in relevant Engineering discipline; relevant Technical / Vocational certificate an advantage.
Experience:
- Employer requires 5 years experience as an Instrument Technician within a Process plant environment
- Experience with Control Systems
- Experience on offshore facilities or marine vessels would be an added advantage
Skills:
- Good inter-personal and communications skills
- Good computer skills and knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
