We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of goods and services required for the retail store’s operations.
  • This role ensures that inventory levels are maintained efficiently, purchases are cost-effective, and supplier relationships are managed professionally.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of procurement best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality products at competitive prices.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods while maintaining quality standards.
  • Maintain good relationships with existing suppliers while identifying new sourcing opportunities.

Order Management & Inventory Coordination:

  • Process purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Officer to track stock levels and prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Monitor product demand and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
  • Coordinate with the store team to ensure seamless stock integration upon arrival.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Analyse market trends and supplier pricing to achieve cost savings.
  • Monitor procurement budgets and track expenditures to avoid unnecessary costs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and pricing history.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of procurement processes to improve efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer, Buyer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, Microsoft Excel, and inventory management systems.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
