Summary

• The Agri-Value Chain Expert will be responsible for restructuring and optimising agricultural value chains to create long-term economic opportunities and drive sustainability.
• This role requires strong expertise in value chain analysis, stakeholder engagement, and partnership building.

Responsibilities

• Analyse agricultural value chains to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimisation.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the productivity, quality, and competitiveness of agricultural products.
• Foster partnerships with stakeholders across the agricultural ecosystem, including farmers, processors, distributors, and policymakers.
• Provide technical advice on sustainable practices, market access, and supply chain integration.
• Design and manage capacity-building programs to support small-scale farmers and agribusinesses.
• Develop frameworks for monitoring and evaluating the performance of agricultural value chains.
• Collaborate with government agencies, development partners, and private sector actors to mobilise resources and drive innovation.
• Stay updated on global trends and emerging technologies in agriculture and value chain management.
• Design and develop policies that promote agricultural development, sustainability, and food security.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to guide project stakeholders.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, or a related field.
• Masters degree or certifications in Agronomy, or Agricultural Economics are an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience:

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in agricultural value chain development or related fields.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing value chain optimisation strategies.
• Strong understanding of agricultural markets, sustainability practices, and supply chain processes..
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including farmers, government agencies, and private sector.
• Knowledge of global agricultural trends and technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
