Job Summary

  • Our client is seeking an Technical Manager to oversee the technical design and engineering aspects of a port reconstruction project.

Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, marine infrastructure, and project management.
  • This role requires extensive expertise in technical planning, design validation, and execution oversight, ensuring that all engineering aspects comply with international standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the technical design and engineering aspects of the port reconstruction project, ensuring compliance with global best practices and local regulations.
  • Oversee feasibility studies, structural analysis, and technical assessments to optimize design and construction processes.
  • Collaborate with consultants, engineers, and contractors to review and validate engineering designs and specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership in the selection of construction materials, methodologies, and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Ensure project milestones are met by coordinating with project management teams, government agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate engineering risks, ensuring safety and environmental sustainability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues, and provide strategic guidance on complex engineering challenges.
  • Lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, project documentation, and compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in marine infrastructure, port development, or large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Proven track record in leading technical design and engineering aspects of complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international engineering standards, including FIDIC, IMO, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in working with government agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Professional certification (e.g., COREN, PMP, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
