A newly built and exquisite Hotel located in CHOBA (Uniport), Port Harcourt - Rivers State, is recruiting resourceful and experienced candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: CHOBA (Uniport), Port Harcourt - Rivers

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef: Support the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
• Kitchen Operations: Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Food Quality and Presentation: Ensure high standards of food quality and presentation, including taste, texture, and appearance.
• Kitchen Safety and Hygiene: Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking ingredients.
• Staff Supervision: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support staff.
• Menu Development: Assist with menu development, including researching new recipes and ingredients.
• Cost Control: Assist with cost control, including managing food costs, labor costs, and other kitchen expenses.

Qualifications / Competencies

• Culinary Education: Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
• Kitchen Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a senior role.
• Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills, including staff supervision and training.
• Food Safety Certification: Food safety certification, such as HACCP or equivalent.
• Creativity and Innovation: Ability to think creatively and develop new recipes and menu ideas.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
