We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Gardener

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Property Owner

Job Summary

• Maintain and care for gardens, lawns, and landscapes to ensure their health, beauty, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plant care: Plant, water, prune, and fertilize plants, trees, and flowers.
• Lawn maintenance: Mow, edge, and water lawns to maintain a healthy and attractive appearance.
• Weeding and pruning: Remove weeds and prune plants to maintain garden appearance and promote healthy growth.
• Soil management: Test and amend soil to ensure optimal plant growth.
• Pest and disease management: Identify and control pests and diseases using integrated pest management (IPM) techniques.
• Irrigation management: Manage irrigation systems to ensure efficient water use.
• Garden design: Assist with garden design and planning to create beautiful and functional outdoor spaces.

Education and Qualifications

• Horticultural training: Formal training in horticulture, such as a Certificate or Diploma in Horticulture.
• Gardening experience: Previous experience in gardening or a related field.
• Certifications: Certifications, such as the Certified Gardener (CG) or the Certified Horticultural Technician (CHT), are desirable.

Required skills:

• Horticultural knowledge: Basic knowledge of horticulture, plant biology, and ecology.
• Physical stamina: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, including gardening equipment and plants.
• Attention to detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure gardens are maintained to a high standard.
• Communication skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and solve problems, including pest and disease management.

Working conditions:

• Outdoor work: Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, and sun.
• Physical demands: Physical demands, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects.
• Flexible schedule: Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, may be required.

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 monthly.
