Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental Organization to serve as a collective voice of PLHIV in the Country. The Organization is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria in September 2004. NEPWHAN is now Seventeen (17) Years Old as a vibrant patient community network in Nigeria. The network formed since 1998 has established structures at the zonal and all States including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and as well saddled with the responsibility of coordinating, supervising and monitoring activities and programs of over 1, 030 support groups membership across the Federation making it one of the biggest Patient network in Africa. Our GOALNEPWHAN has formed constituent bodies; Association of Youth Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (APYIN), Association of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (ASWHAN), Association of Religious Leaders Living with and Personally Affected by HIV/AIDS (NINERELA+) to advocate and provide HIV programming intervention for the specific needs of their targets and members.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: State Survey Supervisor

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Benue, Cross River, Edo, Enugu, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Rivers, Sokoto and Taraba
Employment Type: Contract.

Job Summary

  • There will be 24 State Supervisors who will provide supervision to the data collectors within their respective States.

Role of the State Survey Supervisor

  • Collaborate with State level partners in the State for effective implementation of survey activities.
  • Liaise with the State Ministry of Health, Facility, and Support Group Coordinators to identify research venues.
  • Monitor and ensure effective coordination of PLHIV for participation in the survey
  • Conduct periodic spot-checks on activities of Research Supervisors to address unresolved project issues and validate reported data.
  • Coordinate collection and submission of survey materials to the national office at completion of the survey.
  • Facilitate referral support to interviewees
  • Share the outcome of the reports with relevant partners (SACA, LACA, State Ministry of Health, etc) after the survey.
  • Oversee and supervise the implementation of data collection within the State.
  • Provide direct supervision to Data Collectors.
  • Work with NEPWHAN Coordinator in the State to provide guidance on locations/places of interviews
  • Perform quality checks on the completed forms in REDCap.
  • Ensure that appropriate ethical standards are maintained during the research process.
  • Follow-up and ensure referral support is provided to all interviewees.
  • Perform other duties arising from final review of the stigma index protocol.
