Job Description

  • Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA) is seeking a highly motivated and organized Grant Account Manager to join our team.
  • In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely management of grant funds, working collaboratively with our Finance and Grants Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life cycle of assigned grant accounts, from receipt to disbursement and closure, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and WBFA policies.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for grantors, including budget reports, expenditure reports, and final reports.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed grant account records, including budgets, invoices, receipts, and correspondence.
  • Work closely with program staff to ensure proper documentation and justification for grant expenditures.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of internal controls for grant accounting processes.
  • Research and stay up-to-date on relevant grant regulations and donor requirements.
  • Identify and manage potential grant compliance risks.
  • Reconcile grant accounts on a regular basis and ensure timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Respond to donor inquiries regarding grant funds in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in the preparation of grant proposals as needed.
  • Train and mentor staff on grant accounting procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and non-profit accounting practices.
  • Proven experience with grant accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team of colleagues and donors.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
