The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), founded in 2004, was created to improve health outcomes for women, infants, and children while working towards the systemic and structural changes in the areas of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), Gender Equality, and Opportunity (GEO). At the WBFA, we combine our programs with advocacy work in Nigeria and worldwide, allowing every health worker, mother, and child access to life-altering advice, opportunities, and health solutions.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Officer of Policy & Advocacy - The Wellbeing Foundation Africa Research and Development Unit

Location: Abuja
Job type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Policy and Research Support:

  • Conduct research on policy issues related to maternal, newborn, and child health.Assist in drafting policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials.

Advocacy:

  • Support advocacy initiatives and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating events and activities related to WBFA’s advocacy goals.

Programme Assistance:

  • Support policy integration across WBFA programmes.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts related to advocacy activities.
  • Administrative and Communications Support:
  • Maintain policy and research databases.
  • Assist in internal and external communications related to policy work.

Example Deliverables:

  • Conduct research to support policy recommendations.
  • Assist in drafting policy briefs or reports.
  • Support the organization of advocacy workshops and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of policy developments.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for advocacy initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Health, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in policy research, advocacy, or related administrative support.
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
