Job Title: Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

  • Our client is seeking a skilled Accountant to manage financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, analyzing data, supporting audits, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting to drive business efficiency.

Scope of Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support business planning.

Accounting Operations:

  • Record and maintain detailed journal entries in the General Ledger (GL).
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Reconcile all business accounts to ensure accuracy in financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Transaction Processing & Compliance:

  • Process incoming payments and outgoing transactions, including checks and vendor payments.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and follow up with vendors for outstanding balances.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accounting software.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

Month-End & Quarterly Closings:

  • Assist in month-end and quarterly financial close processes.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports in accordance with best practices.

Key Requirements

  • B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the real estate or retail sector.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.

Salary
N150,000 monthly.
