The Lagos State College of Nursing (LASCON) is dedicated to providing a world-class Nursing Education that equips students with the skills, knowledge and competencies required to deliver exceptional patient care. Our Mission is to establish LASCON as a model Nursing Institution of excellence in Nigeria, producing graduates who are globally competitive and committed to delivering high-quality nursing care.

Currently, LASCON offers Basic Nursing and Midwifery programmes with increasing student population. Our Academic Programmes are designed to meet highest standards of Nursing Education with a focus on practical skills, critical thinking and evidence-based practice. The College is strategically positioned to support and drive the Development Thrust of Lagos State Government as encapsulated in T-H-E-M-E-S + Agenda with a focus on the second pillar; Health and Environment. The College is presently providing opportunities for individuals to acquire nursing skills and playing a vital role in enhancing the quality of healthcare services in Lagos State and beyond.

The Governing Council of the Lagos State College of Nursing hereby seeks application from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:

Job Title: Provost

Location: Igando, Lagos

Candidates' Required Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. B.NSc Degree from a recognised institution. Possession of Master's or PhD Degree in Nursing or related field will be an added advantage.
• Twenty (20) years of cognate experience in Nursing with a strong background in Nursing Education and Administration.
• Evidence of professional  Certificartes such as RN, RM, RNE and a valid NMCN Licence will be considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing scholarship, research and publications in reputable journals, showcasing expertise and contributions to Nursing profession is required.
• Outstanding leadership ability, strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal and coordination skills, emotional intelligence, confidence and professional presence for sound decisions with proven track record of Institutional Management and strong academic, administrative and visionary qualities are required.
• Must be above 40 years and not older than 60 years at the date of appointment.
• Should be of good health, sound judgement, pleasant disposition and unassailable integrity.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will be expected to provide visionary leadership, academic expertise, administrative acumen to drive the college's growth and development.
• Proven experience as a nurse educator with sufficient academic leadership experience; strong record of scholarship and commitment to Nursing Education are required.

Tenure and Condition of Service
The appointment is for a single term of 5 years only. Salaries and other conditions of service shall be as obtainable for the position and approved by Lagos State Government.
