Job Description
- The Physics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality Physics instruction at the senior secondary level, preparing students for outstanding performance in WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, SAT, and other international Olympiad-style Physics competitions.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Curriculum Delivery:
- Develop and deliver engaging Physics lessons that align with WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, SAT, and other international curricula.
- Utilize modern teaching methodologies, including digital tools, simulations, and interactive learning strategies.
- Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance conceptual understanding and hands-on experience.
- Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills through inquiry-based and project-based learning.
Examination Preparation & Coaching:
- Design specialized coaching programs for high-achieving students preparing for competitive national and international exams.
- Conduct intensive revision sessions, mock tests, and performance analysis for students sitting for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, and SAT Physics exams.
- Provide personalized mentorship to students participating in national and international Physics Olympiads.
Student Development & Engagement:
- Inspire and mentor students towards academic excellence and a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
- Organize science fairs, Physics clubs, and innovation-based competitions to encourage hands-on learning.
- Offer career guidance and university preparation support, particularly for students pursuing STEM-related courses.
Classroom & Laboratory Management:
- Maintain a well-organized and safe Physics laboratory, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Supervise students during experiments, ensuring proper handling of laboratory equipment.
- Keep accurate records of students’ performance, attendance, and practical assessments.
Collaboration & Professional Development:
- Work closely with other science teachers to develop an integrated STEM curriculum.
- Participate in staff training, educational workshops, and continuous professional development (CPD) programs.
- Engage with parents and guardians to provide feedback on student progress.
Educational Qualifications & Experience
- B.Sc./B.Ed in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Physics at the senior secondary level.
- Proven track record of coaching students for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, IGCSE, SAT, and Physics Olympiads with excellent results.
- Strong laboratory skills with experience in conducting Physics practicals at a high standard.
- Proficiency in using technology-based teaching tools, simulations, and online learning platforms.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
