Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Ikorodu, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for financial performance to management.
• Develop financial models and forecasts based on business trends and operational data.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide recommendations for cost efficiencies.
• Prepare cash flow projections and analyze funding needs.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform regular audits to identify discrepancies and improve processes.
• Support external audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.

Cost Management:

• Analyze manufacturing costs and overhead expenses to optimize profitability.
• Implement cost control initiatives and monitor cost trends.
• Evaluate product pricing strategies and profitability analysis.

Financial Operations:

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.

Financial Strategy and Decision Support:

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to business growth initiatives.
• Assess financial risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in packaging or related industries.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Minimum of 5-9 years’ experience
• Strong proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with SAP or Oracle is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
