  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Job Description

  • Who is an Accountant: An accountant is a professional who records, maintains, and analyzes financial information. 
  • They help businesses and individuals track their income and expenses, prepare financial statements, and comply with tax laws. 
  • Accountants also provide financial advice and help businesses make sound financial decisions.
  • As an Account Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our organization. 
  • You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with other departments to support the overall financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization.
  • Record daily financial transactions, including expenses, revenue, and bank deposits.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of budgets to ensure efficient financial planning and control.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue generation.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist in financial audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, for management and stakeholders.
  • Investigate and explain discrepancies between budgeted and actual financial performance.
  • Handle payroll activities, including calculating salaries, deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Monitor and control expenses to ensure they align with the budget and company policies.
  • Use historical data and financial trends to forecast future financial performance.
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline financial processes and maintain data accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations in financial reporting and transactions.
  • Manage cash flow by monitoring accounts receivable and payable and optimizing cash reserves.
  • Provide financial advice and recommendations to management for decision-making, such as investment opportunities or cost-saving strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
