Job Description

• We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing finance team.
• The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial records of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. 
• This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, construction industry practices, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor cost variances and provide explanations for deviations.
• Generate project cost reports and provide insights to project managers.
• Ensure accurate allocation of costs to specific projects.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Process invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors.
• Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments.
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and tax laws.
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.
• Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and construction accounting methods.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Salary
N200,000 / month.
