We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: National Cook

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• As a National Cook, you will prepare authentic local dishes and specialties, showcasing the unique flavors and ingredients of Nigeria.
• Your expertise and creativity will delight our guests and enhance our hotel's culinary reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook local specialties and traditional dishes
• Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes
• Collaborate with Executive Chef and culinary team
• Ensure highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and equipment
• Train and mentor junior staff
• Participate in culinary events and promotions.

Requirements

• Culinary Degree or Diploma
• 3-5 years of experience as a National Cook or Chef de Partie
• Certification in food safety and hygiene
• Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of local cuisine
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
• Knowledge of national cuisine and cooking techniques
• Certification in culinary arts or related field
• Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and best practices
• Creativity and innovation in menu development.
