Job Title: Welder Technician

Locations: Lagos and Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Industry: Steel Manufacturing
Working Days: Monday-Saturday

Role Overview

  • The Welder Technician is responsible for performing high-quality welding, fabrication, and maintenance of mechanical components to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and adherence to safety and maintenance standards to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Welding & Fabrication:

  • Perform welding and fabrication of machine components as required.
  • Repair broken or damaged mechanical parts to restore functionality.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Conduct daily inspections of all line conveyors while in operation to assess chain tension and necessary adjustments.
  • Utilize a filler gauge to check the roller settings of the seamer machine before initiating production.
  • Ensure thorough cleaning and proper greasing of all mechanical equipment to prevent wear and tear.

Corrective Maintenance:

  • Be readily available to respond to emergency breakdowns and provide immediate corrective action.
  • Work proactively to minimize production downtime by troubleshooting and resolving mechanical failures efficiently.

Housekeeping & Equipment Care:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace before, during, and after work.
  • Ensure all tools and machines are properly cleaned and stored after use.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Compliance:

  • Adhere to 100% compliance with all HSE regulations and company safety policies.
  • Properly use and maintain all issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure workplace safety.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum OND in Mechanical Engineering/Welding Technology or equivalent certification.
  • At least 3 years of industrial work experience in a similar role.
  • Strong welding experience
  • Hands-on maintenance expertise
  • Good understanding of blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication processes, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical components efficiently.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 gross
