Job Title: Electronic Technical Officer (ETO)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Position Overview

• As an Electronic Technical Officer (ETO), you will play a critical role in maintaining and operating the electronic, automation, and communication systems onboard our vessels. You'll work closely with the ship's engineering team to ensure smooth technical operations and contribute to the vessel's safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electronic and automation systems, including navigation, communication, and control systems.
• Performing diagnostics and providing solutions for electronic equipment faults. Ensuring compliance with maritime safety standards and the ship's operational guidelines.
• Monitoring and maintaining the ship's power generation and distribution systems.
• Assisting in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs for electrical equipment and systems.
• Maintaining clear records and reports of repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance activities.

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• STCW Certification (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers).
• Certificate of competence as ETO with a recognised maritime institution.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role onboard a vessel or in the maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
