Job Title: Baker / Pastry Cook

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Head Pastry Chef / Executive Chef

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook / Baker to join our culinary team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, and other baked goods while ensuring quality and consistency.
  • This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods following established recipes and standards.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to achieve consistent results.
  • Operate and maintain baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofing cabinets.
  • Monitor baking processes to ensure proper texture, taste, and presentation.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods with icings, glazes, fillings, and other toppings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist in menu development by suggesting new recipes and seasonal baked goods.
  • Ensure proper storage of ingredients and baked goods to maintain freshness.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to meet customer demands.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene regulations in compliance with health department standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Culinary or baking degree/certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Cook / Baker or similar role.
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and various doughs.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and make necessary adjustments when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity and attention to detail in pastry decoration and presentation.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle baking equipment.
  • Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene regulations.

Work Schedule:

  • Morning Shift
  • Afternoon Shift
  • Night Shift
  • One day off in a week.
